New Chief Executive heading Veyo project

The partnership company behind the Veyo conveyancing portal, Legal Practice Technologies (LPT), has this week appointed a new Chief Executive to head this widely publicised venture.

Simon Drane, who is also currently the Executive Director of Business Development for The Law Society reportedly began his role as of 28th September 2015.

Chairman of LPT, Ian Gray comments on Simon’s appointment:

“We know from the conveyancing community that there is a genuine and ongoing need for Veyo, the conveyancing portal. We are committed to ensuring that Veyo will meet conveyancers’ expectations. Because of this we will only fully launch the product when we are satisfied that it is working well and will add value to the conveyancing process. This will help conveyancers complete transactions ever more quickly on behalf of their clients.

“We are pleased to announce that Simon Drane is taking over as CEO of Veyo with immediate effect from the interim CEO Nigel Spencer. We thank Nigel for acting as the interim CEO over the past months while we looked for a successor. Simon will also continue his role as executive director of business development for the Law Society. He has a strong background in legal product development. Specifically he has worked for many years on legal workflow technologies.

“The first job for any new CEO is to review and evaluate the product. This will identify what needs to be done to make Veyo available to conveyancers as soon as we are satisfied that it has the functions and usability to be a market leader.”

Today’s Conveyancer are currently in contact with Veyo and we’re seeking to cover this story further. We hope to deliver this is due course once Simon has settled into his new role.
