Women in Residential Property (WIRP) which aims to encourage collaboration between those involved in residential property transactions and improve networking opportunities for women has grown to over 300 members since lockdown began.

New chair sought for national networking group

National networking and collaboration group Women in Residential Property is recruiting for a new chair following the end of current chair Nicola Broomham’s term.

Women in Residential Property was established 6 years ago by Emma Vigus and in that time has amassed a significant following across the property services sector encompassing block management, surveying, estate agency, panel management and conveyancing to name a few. The group promotes wider knowledge sharing and professional development throughout it’s regular on and offline networking and training events.

Nicola Broomham had been in post for two years during which the group had continued to grow with a raft of new events and challenging topics; including mental health and wellbeing socials, net-walking, lunches, and regular virtual coffee mornings.

The group has also launched its own podcast with guests Lexie Carducci, Nicola Thivvessen, Sarah Tonkinson, and Estate Agency membership body Propertymark President Angharad Trueman, Vice President, Kim Lidbury and President Elect Megan Eighteen all appearing to date.

The chair role is expected to lead the group with the support of Today’s Media as secretariat; taking an active role in the discussions, debates and topics the group covers; primarily focusing on bringing the sometimes disparate network of sectors that make up the property sector, together. There will also be an expectation to host the quarterly lunches hosted around the country.

“It’s been a privilege to be the chair of WIRP and I’m excited to hand over the baton to the next chair who will no doubt build on the work we’ve done over the past 2 years.”

said Nicola Broomham.

“The future of WIRP is very much committed to its core values of collaboration, insight and support for women across the property community and our upcoming events are all representative of that vision; bringing the sectors together in a spirit of shared experience. I would encourage anyone who is interested in playing an active role in bringing these fantastic communities to apply and play their part in what happens next within this fantastic group.”

The deadline for applications is Thursday 3rd April. The voluntary role would be formally taken up after the interview process. If you are interested in applying for the role; or for an informal discussion on the position, you can find out more here.
