Two fast-growing legal services groups have shared details of their latest acquisitions. Orwins and Lawfront have each acquired two firms, with the groups eyeing revenue of £50 million and £175 million respectively.

Yorkshire law firm Milners and London’s Roe Lawyers have been added to the Orwins stable, which specialises in legal services for business and high net worth individuals.

Roe Lawyers is a boutique criminal, white collar and regulatory law firm based in central London, and will strengthen Orwins’ specialist disputes and regulatory capability. It provides a wide range of services including commercial litigation, property, public law, corporate, employment and HR management services, private client and family.

Milners is a full-service law firm with seven partners and 41 staff headquartered in Leeds and with offices in Harrogate, Malton, Darlington and Pontefract.

The acquisitions by the Manchester-headquartered Orwins group follow its investment into Clarkslegal in Reading and Clarke Mairs in Newcastle in earlier this year.

Backed by Aliter Capital, Orwins now has over 250 staff and combined revenues of £34 million, with targets of over £50 million as it continues to scale through organic growth and further strategic investments.

Dov Black, chief executive, said: “Over many years, Milners has earned a strong and established reputation in the Yorkshire community. Alongside this, we were particularly impressed by Milners’ personable and flexible approach to client relationships which closely reflects the way we work at Orwins. That shared outlook and strong cultural alignment give us great confidence in what we can achieve together.

“We are also delighted to welcome Stephanie Roe and her team to Orwins, bringing specialist crime and regulatory services into the group as a further area of expertise.”

Aliter Capital first invested in Manchester-based BBS Law in October 2024 and then Carter Bond in August 2025. The firm rebranded as Orwins in May 2026 following its investment into Clarkslegal, with investment in Clarke Mairs following in July 2026.

Regional legal services group Lawfront has announced two further acquisitions from group firms Fisher Jones Greenwood (FJG) and Farleys, taking its acquisition tally to 18 over five years.

Essex and Suffolk law firm FJG has acquired Giles Wilson, a 35-strong Leigh-on-Sea firm. The acquisition further accelerates FJG’s growth and presence across East Anglia, and expands on the firm’s high performing private client practice with a new dedicated vulnerable client team.

Lancashire firm Farleys’ acquisition of Clitheroe-based Houldsworth Solicitors has strengthened its presence across the region – the third acquisition completed by Farleys since joining Lawfront.

With the full 27-strong team from Houldsworth set to join Farleys, existing clients of the firm will benefit from continuity of relationships alongside access to wider expertise from across Farleys’ team.

The acquisitions continue the momentum in Lawfront’s ambitious growth strategy, taking group revenue to a projected £175m this year, which the group says is the result of its support across tech and AI adoption and investment in people.

Peter Martin-Simon, chief executive officer of Lawfront, said: “These latest deals highlight Lawfront’s ongoing commitment to backing its firms to go for growth. Both acquisitions strengthen FJG and Farleys’ positions across their respective regions, and allow them to further accelerate their growth as leading regional players.

“Lawfront’s ethos is centred around championing firms that have strong growth potential, and providing them with the technology, capital and operational support they need to achieve this. In short, we provide regional leaders with national scale.

“Thanks to this, we have enjoyed significant growth over recent years, with further acquisitions within the group also on the horizon.”
