National Pro Bono Week (3rd-7th November 2014)

This week is the 13th annual National Pro Bono Week (NPBW) and this year is being sponsored by The Law Society, the Bar Council, and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx).

The aim of this campaign is to promote the importance of pro bono work and the impact it’s had on consumers. Providing free legal advice can make an incredible difference to those who cannot afford required services, or don’t have access to stated-funded legal aid.

On Thursday and Friday, PILnet’s eighth annual European Pro Bono Forum will be hosted in London. This unique gathering will see legal professionals from across Europe come together to discuss pro bono practice from the past year. Keynote speakers include Lord Goldsmith and Fiona Woolf, Lord Mayor of the City of London.

Some of the events throughout the week are invitation-only. However there are many talks and discussions which anyone is welcome to attend.
