March saw a rise in the number of sales received for registration. According to HM Land Registry data, total saw a month-on-month increase of 5,035.
Price Paid Data from HM Land Registry sets out the details of land and property sales across England and Wales which HMLR received for registration. During March 2018, 90,284 sales were received for registration.
Of these, 65,558 were freehold and 16,355 were newly built.
Looking to the type of property:
- 20,144 were detached
- 22,040 were semi-detached
- 23,036 were terraced
- 18,253 were a flat/maisonette
- 6,811 were classed as other
During March 2018, the most expensive residential sale was for a detached property in Greater London which went for £15,000000. The cheapest took place in County Durham, where a terraced property sold for £20,000.
Where commercial sales were concerned, the most expensive took place which took place last month was for £154,000,000 in the City of London. The cheapest commercial sale occurred in Bury St Edmunds where a property sold for £100.
