Lomond estate agency group set for sale, valued at over £100m

Reports indicate that the Lomond estate agency group, known for its substantial private equity backing and growth through multiple acquisitions, is poised for a sale.

LDC Private Equity Investment Firm has reportedly enlisted Clearwater International bankers to manage the sale process, expected to commence in the coming months. Industry sources suggest Lomond could fetch a valuation well exceeding £100 million.

Formed from the merger of Lomond Capital and Linley & Simpson in 2021, the Lomond Group currently manages approximately 22,000 properties. Over the past three years, it has pursued growth, completing 53 acquisitions, although many of these were smaller agencies operating in local markets.

Presently, Lomond oversees a portfolio of 42,500 properties, with a significant portion situated in Scotland, primarily under the DJ Alexander brand. The company’s reach extends across 12 brands, spanning from Aberdeen to Brighton, and boasts a workforce of 1,200 individuals.

Among its prominent brands are Brand Vaughan, Dale Eddison, DJ Alexander, Hardisty & Co., John Shepherd, Julian Wadden, Linley & Simpson, Michael Jones & Co., Thornley Groves, and Matthews of Chester.
