Leeds law firm expands residential team

Yorkshire-based Ison Harrison have expanded their specialist New Build Conveyancing team, bringing the total in the department to ten.

The firm say they’re expanding the department in response to an increase in instructions from property developers.

Led by Jenny Bland, Head of the New Build Conveyancing team, the department has recently welcomed trainee solicitor Gillian Colquhoun and new recruits Sarah Hack and Kathryn Gladwell, both Conveyancing Assistants.

The department, which gets around 200 new instructions per month, receives recommendations to act for the purchasers of more than a dozen National House Builders.

In the past 12 months, new instructions have been won to act for purchasers across more than 70 sites and the team is looking to build on this success even further.

Jenny Bland said: “This is an exciting time for the New Build Team which has led to rapid departmental growth.

“As a result of working with leading property developers across Yorkshire, the North East and Lancashire we have added to the department to bring in new skills and expertise.

“Strong relationships with developer building teams coupled with increased instructions via government schemes, such as Help to Buy or the Help to Buy ISA, mean we’re looking to add to our client list further as we prepare to welcome new sites from developers and new instructions from purchasers in the remaining six months of the year.”
