Kit Malthouse confirmed as new Housing Minister

The identity of the new Minister of State for Housing has now been confirmed.

Kit Malthouse is set to take on the role of Housing Minister following Dominic Raab’s departure from the position earlier today. Raab was appointed Brexit Secretary after David Davis resigned late on Sunday evening.

Until today, Malthouse was Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Family Support, Housing and Child Maintenance at the Department of Work and Pensions.

Prior to entering Parliament, he was also a member of the London Assembly where he served as Deputy Mayor for Policing and Deputy Mayor for Business and Enterprise.

In the 2015 election, he was selected to be the MP for the safe seat of North West Hampshire.
