‘Homes matter’ say founders of a new search company with charitable aims

A new property search platform has launched bringing together 20+ years’ experience; with an ambition to raise money for causes dedicated to supporting those experiencing homelessness.

Tenet Property Searches has been founded by former Conveyancing Data Services search specialist Chris Dear, alongside Ben, with a vision to ‘redefine conveyancer-focused search solutions.’ The business says it will bring the benefit of its years of combined experience in search provision and conveyancing to ‘do better… offering a service that is innovative, reliable, and truly tailored to conveyancers.’

Having worked with both large and small search providers, Ben and Chris say they have seen first hand what works well and where improvements are needed. Tenet was launched to serve a ‘critical gap’ in the market where there is a disconnect between search companies and conveyancers, where each may not fully understand the other’s processes says Dear. This is where Penelope Chelmick, a property lawyer with over 20 years of conveyancing experience, bridges that divide he adds, ensuring Tenet can understand and meet the requirements of conveyancers ‘with precision and expertise.’

The business launches with a complete range of property searches including local authority searches, environmental reports, drainage and water searches, alongside the array of wider due diligence reports; all available through its online portal.

“Our vision is to be a trusted partner in property searches, offering high-quality service and innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the industry”

says founder Dear.

Dear’s own background in law, property, and business has helped shape the direction of the service playing a ‘pivotal role in developing a conveyancer-focused search experience that is both innovative and reliable.’ His co-founders are similarly experienced bringing experience and expertise, alongside accuracy in the data served up. Ben has spent many years in the industry; and Chelmick, a property lawyer with over 20 years’ conveyancing experience, brings an invaluable perspective to the business with experience in marketing and business strategy and her hands-on understanding of the role of conveyancers.

The business says it is focused on high levels of personal service with direct access to knowledgeable and experienced search expertise; with an experienced property lawyer amongst the founding directors, there is ‘real world insight’ , adds Dear.

The founders have also committed to donating a portion of the profits to charity.

“Beyond delivering exceptional service, we recognise the deeper significance of the property journey. Homes matter.”

Says Dear

“We understand the importance of having a home and the privilege of buying one. However, the reality is stark—an estimated 354,000 adults and children are homeless in England. That’s why we are committed to making a difference by donating a portion of our profits to organisations dedicated to supporting those experiencing homelessness.
