Powers of attorney and registered land (PG9)

Page summary:
Advice on the evidence that HM Land Registry needs when an attorney has executed documents lodged for registration (practice guide 9).

Change made:
Section 7.1 has been updated to reflect an enhancement to the Office of the Public Guardian’s ‘Use/View a lasting power of attorney’ service due to come into effect on 4 July 2023. The enhancement will enable any ‘instructions’ to feature on the LPA Summary Sheet for access codes obtained on or after 4th July 2023.

Private trusts of land (PG24)

Page summary:
Guidance on applications to register transactions involving trustees of land, aimed at conveyancers (practice guide 24).

Change made:
Section 2.2.5 has been updated to reflect our current practice and to clarify when applying for a form B restriction might not be appropriate.

Evidence of identity (PG67)

Page summary:
This guide explains when evidence of identity is required and how it should be given. It is aimed at conveyancers (practice guide 67).

Change made:
Section 8 has been amended to clarify you should always use the current versions of our ID forms.

Overseas entities (PG78)

Page summary:
Guidance for conveyancers on overseas entities (practice guide 78).

Change made:
We have updated practice guide 78 to include section 3.6.4, setting out our requirements for adding an overseas entity ID to the register as a standalone application by a means other than the Digital Registration Service (DRS), bulk applications or Business Gateway connected software.
