New guidance on overseas companies released by HMLR

HM Land Registry has recently launched a new practice guide on overseas companies and limited liability partnerships.

Entitled Practice guide 78, the guide provides advice on overseas companies registration requirements, largely focussing on those which differ to the ones which apply to UK companies.

Information about overseas limited liability partnerships is also included in the guide.

The Guide initially clarifies the definition of an overseas company before focussing on the relevant requirements for registering an overseas company or limited liability partnership.

It then goes on to explain the way in which deeds can be executed by an overseas company as well as what would happen should a company become insolvent and the necessary evidence required.

Practice Guide 78 can be accessed here.
