Firm launches new conveyancing team

A law firm has just launched a new conveyancing team in Manchester.

Having recently appointed conveyancing partner Lisa Gibbs, Shoosmiths are set to extend their northern conveyancing services with the launch of a new team.  Lisa makes the move to the firm from Simpson Millar, having worked for Irwin Mitchell and Eversheds in the past. The team will shortly be moving into their new office in Spinningfields.

Along with the introduction of the new team, Tim McNamara has been hired, marking his return to private practice at partner level. He’s spent the last seven years working at the Royal Bank of Scotland, six of which were spent leading transaction management for Northern corporate real estate finance teams. Prior to that, Tim worked as a managing associate in Addleshaw Goddard’s finance division.

Also joining the firm is real estate partner Paul Gidman. Having joined from DWF, he brings with him valuable experience in both investment and development work. Paul has been set the task of expanding Shoosmith’s developing property sector client base.

Commenting on the new team as well as the new appointments was Vaqas Farooq. The head of Shoosmiths in Manchester stated: “In a competitive marketplace, we continue to attract the very best of Manchester’s legal talent; individuals like Lisa, Tim and Paul who have built up years of experience and are leaders in their respective areas of law.

“These are exciting times for the firm as we continue to evolve our offering and we look forward to providing clients in the North with our award-winning conveyancing service, along with enhanced capability in our banking and real estate teams.”
