A Bristol-based conveyancing firm has been awarded the Plain English website accreditation, recognising a commitment to “making the home-moving process easier to understand.”

Eden Conveyancing said it aimed to “balance legal accuracy with straightforward explanations of what is happening, what clients need to do, and what they can expect next – helping clients understand their home moves and making the process feel more manageable.”

““Clear communication is a fundamental part of a great conveyancing service that should translate complex legal processes into clear, practical explanations. Buying or selling a home can be complicated but understanding what’s happening with your transaction shouldn’t be.” said CEO and founder Bruce Griffin.

The Internet Crystal Mark is awarded by the Plain English Campaign to recognise content that meets its standards for clear communication. For websites, this includes the use of accessible language, clear structure and easy navigation.

Founded in 1979 by Chrissie Maher OBE, it is based on the simple principle that people should not need specialist knowledge to understand information that affects them.

Its report on Eden’s website described the language as “excellent”, adding that the site “makes very good use of plain English, and there are no issues with the clarity of text.”

The Crystal Mark report added the firm’s website was “clear and well laid out, with accessible language and formatting, and makes good use of images to complement the language.”

“At Eden, our aim has always been for our clients to feel informed and know where they stand throughout their move, without having to decipher legal jargon. As more and more clients begin their search for a conveyancer online, it’s incredibly important to us that our website is clear, easy to use, and fit for purpose” added Griffin, concluding “we’re delighted that the Internet Crystal Mark recognises Eden as achieving the clear communication we aim for, when clients begin their home-moving journey with us.”

The firm recently celebrated being named one of the most digitally mature conveyancing firms in England and Wales according to the Digital Maturity Index, published by InfoTrack.
