Diary of a High Street Conveyancer: A Christmas carol for conveyancers…

It has been an eventful year and I support , congratulate and thank all conveyancers throughout the country for just being there. It helps that we know that we are all going through the same trials and tribulations of helping people move house but just remember that without us,  the public could not move house.

We are the gate keepers of the system. We make this happen.

So onto 2025.  Put down your quills and other writing tools over Christmas and take a well deserved break.

So it has become somewhat of a tradition for me to give you a twist on a Christmas song in the flavour of conveyancing.

So with apologies to Chris Rea….

Driving home for Christmas

Gotta get those last moves done

Driving home for Christmas

Nearly time to have some fun

But it’s been so tough

With new laws and forms

Conveyancing can be rough

But we love it really

Drafting those reports

Get them all done for Christmas

Top to tail in searches

There are emails all around

But soon I’ll close my laptop

Close it down without a sound

And I thank you all

Though you don’t know me

Respect the Protocol

And up your fees – you know you want to –

Switch off over Christmas

Driving home for Christmas

With many happy clients

I take a look at the conveyancer next to me

He’s just the same

He’s closing his laptop and switching off over Christmas.
