Conveyancing veteran picks up Lifetime Achievement Award

Rob Hailstone, Founder of the Bold Legal Group, has recently been bestowed with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his 48 years serving the conveyancing profession.

A long-standing champion of the interests of both conveyancers and the wider property industry, Hailstone went from manager of a conveyancing practice in Bovey Tracey to HIP-provider before founding Bold Legal Group.

More recently, Hailstone – with the support of Today’s Conveyancer – launched National Conveyancing Week, which aims to educate the property industry and wider general public about the role of conveyancers in the home moving transaction and serve to restore some pride in a profession constantly battered by bad press and increasing scrutiny.

“After 48 years working in and for the conveyancing profession, winning the Leap sponsored Modern Law Lifetime Award last week was a very proud moment,” said Hailstone, adding that the recognition was “immensely satisfying”. He continued:

“Modern Law and my wife Lynne managed to keep the award hush hush up until the last moment, and receiving the award and the applause of those present was humbling – as was hearing the testimonials kindly provided by Mike Ockenden, Craig Taylor, and Iain McKenzie.”

Hailstone was, however, keen to add he would not be “disappearing from view” having won the Award – in fact, “quite the opposite”:

“In addition to keeping the Bold Legal Group members informed and updated in 2023, I am really looking forward to launching National Conveyancing Week next March and holding the second Bold Legal Group conference and evening soirée in June.”
