The Conveyancing Foundation Welcomes Elizabeth Rimmer as a New Ambassadress

The Conveyancing Foundation has announced the appointment of Elizabeth Rimmer, CEO of LawCare, as its latest Foundation Ambassadress.

In her new role, Elizabeth will be charged with inspiring, educating and advocating the Foundation’s work within the property industry with special reference to its Be Kind We Care wellbeing and mental health initiatives.

The Conveyancing Foundation has worked with Elizabeth and LawCare for several years and, along with charities ‘Agents Together’ and the ‘Mindstep Foundation’, developed the Foundation’s Wellbeing HUB, which provides complimentary information on wellbeing best practice.

Elizabeth has been managing and developing charities in the mental health sector for over 20 years.  She joined LawCare in 2014 from the Institute of Group Analysis, a membership and training organisation for group psychotherapists. Before that she headed up Alzheimer’s Disease International, a worldwide federation of Alzheimer Associations.

Elizabeth started her working life as a solicitor specialising in clinical negligence. She is a trustee of the Helplines Partnership (national body for support and advice helplines) and a member of the International Bar Association’s Professional Wellbeing Commission. Expressing her enthusiasm, Elizabeth commented:

“It is an honour and a privilege to be working with the Conveyancing Foundation and as an Ambassadress.  I very much look forward to contributing to their initiatives and in working with those in the property sector to engage with mental health and wellbeing best practice.

The Foundation’s charity fundraising is quite amazing and it is wonderful to hear that the Foundation will be offering grants to train Mental Health First Aiders in legal practices from 2024. Embracing collective responsibility for mental health in the legal profession is paramount, as we aim to create a community where everyone’s wellbeing is prioritised.”

Lloyd Davies, Chairman of the Conveyancing Foundation, expressed:

“We are thrilled to welcome Elizabeth  as a Foundation Ambassadress. Her unprecedented dedication  to promoting and supporting mental health in the UK legal community brings invaluable experience to the Foundation.

Foundation Ambassadors play a vital  role in promoting, developing and advocating the work of the Foundation across the property industry.  Elizabeth joins a very strong and inspiring team of Ambassadors in Rob and Lynne Hailstone of the Bold Group and Dave Opie of Todays Conveyancer, who have all joined us this year.

It has been a great year for the Foundation, with the appointment of our Ambassadorial team and in reaching the £1million charity fundraising milestone.  Thanks to our amazing Charity Partners we have distributed Charity Grants to those taking part in charity fundraising initiatives this year and funds are still available.  The findings of our Wellbeing at Work Survey will be explored at our webinar next month which Elizabeth and other legal practice experts will help us to continue to explore wellbeing best practice.

We have a very exciting calendar of events lined up for 2024 and we welcome everyone in the property industry to join us on our charity fundraising and wellbeing initiatives.”
