Conveyancing Association launches Online Webinars for member firms

The Conveyancing Association (CA) – the leading trade body for the conveyancing industry – has today launched a series of online webinars for member firms which will taking place throughout the summer.

Working with CA Affiliate members, the online webinars will cover a host of topics with the first two taking place in June.

First up on the 19th June at 11 am is a session entitled, ‘Advising on Restrictive Covenants in residential conveyancing’ hosted by legal training expert, Ian Quayle, in association with tmgroup.

Ian will provide comprehensive best practice guidance on advising residential clients in relation to restrictive covenants. The webinar will examine:

  • To what extent sellers should be made aware of the benefits of imposing restricted covenants on land sales.
  • How new restrictive covenants should be drafted and protected; how they should be dealt with as part of the due diligence process when acting for buyers; and how they can be varied or removed.
  • Plus a review of recent case law.

The second webinar takes place on the 26th June at 11am and is entitled, ‘Delivering source of funds transformation’.

The session will be delivered by Sheryl Hodgson, Head of Customer Success at CA affiliate member, Armalytix. Sheryl will cover how conveyancing firms can change and transform their source of funds process, and will be using her understanding  of the risk and compliance challenges faced by conveyancers.

The CA said there will be further webinars taking place throughout the summer and is working with its affiliate members to present relevant topics for conveyancing firms.

Individuals can sign up to the webinars by visiting the Events section of the CA website at: https://www.conveyancingassociation.org.uk/events/

Nicky Heathcote, Non-Executive Chair at the Conveyancing Association, commented:

“We are very pleased to be launching the first two of a series of ongoing and regular webinars that we plan to hold throughout this summer and hopefully beyond. Member firms tell us that one of the key benefits of CA membership is access to up-to-date training, support and information, and we are working with our valued Affiliate members to bring more of this to our membership. These first two sessions, on restrictive covenants and source of funds transformation, promise to be highly informative and are going to be delivered by experts in their field. We would encourage all interested conveyancers to sign up now and we will be announcing further webinars in due course.”

One Response

  1. Firstly conveyancing is a profession, NOT an industry. Moreover the Conveyancing Association represent only a minority of firms, and significantly those who everyone loves to hate since their ways of operating do many of us doing our jobs professionally and competently a great disservice. Please report accurately.
Hopefully the standards of training available to their members will greatly enhance their ability to speed along chains, not raise frivolous enquiries, and show even a modicum of competence and knowledge.
That is the only thing the Conveyancing association should be concentrating on. Practice what you preach. As a body they are the greatest danger to the long term future of conveyancing as we know it.
