Conveyancers urged to vote for local land charge teams in Land Data Excellence awards

Land Data is urging local authority customers requesting LLC1 and CON29 search enquiries to nominate the local land charges teams in England and Wales that deliver outstanding customer service.

The Customer Satisfaction Award is one of eight Land Data Excellence Awards recognising outstanding performance amongst local land charges practitioners in England and Wales.

Teams in are rated on their performance in four key customer service areas: speed, quality of information, helpfulness and issue resolution. There are four customer satisfaction awards, with one each for district councils, metropolitan councils, unitary councils and London boroughs.

Nominators are entered into a prize draw to win a Fortnum & Mason Hamper worth up to £200. The closing date for entries is 15th February 2026.

“Speed of search turnarounds, a key measure for this award, is of vital importance to all house purchases and a key measure of customer satisfaction,” a Land Data spokesperson said.

Nicki Rowe, land charges officer at Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, won the Customer Satisfaction Award for the Metropolitan District category in 2025.

She said:

“It means a great deal to us to be recognised by the very people who are our priority: our customers. It also puts Dudley Council in the spotlight! Thank you to all our customers for taking the time to vote for us.”

The Excellence Awards will be presented at the 2026 Local Land Charges Training and Development Event on 22nd and 23rd April 2026.
