Compass passes 14,000 SDLT calculations

Compass has passed 14,000 SDLT calculations since launching in 2021, marking a significant milestone in the company’s continued growth and development within the conveyancing sector.

The figure reflects more than four years of handling residential, commercial and mixed use transactions, alongside a wide range of SDLT scenarios.

The milestone comes during a period of continued growth for the business, following a number of significant client wins, ongoing investment in technology and workflow development, and the recently announced integration with InfoTrack.

Compass says the figure demonstrates the depth of operational experience now built into both the platform and wider Concierge proposition, particularly at a time when conveyancing firms are placing increasing focus on consistency, auditability and operational resilience within SDLT processes.

The business has also expanded its operational and support teams in line with increasing transaction volumes and continued client growth.

The company has also continued to expand its development roadmap, with further integration and automation enhancements planned throughout 2026.

Lidia Quinlan, director and head of sales, said: “Reaching 14,000 SDLT calculations is an important milestone because it demonstrates the breadth of experience Compass has built since launching in 2021. We have handled a huge variety of transaction types and levels of complexity during that time, which gives firms confidence that the process is proven and well established.

“One of the things firms continue to value is that we operate on the same fixed fee regardless of complexity. Whether a matter is straightforward or highly complex, the process and pricing structure remain consistent. That supports transparency for firms and their clients, while also removing uncertainty around additional SDLT costs later in the transaction.

“We are continuing to invest heavily in both technology and operational development, including integrations and workflow improvements designed to make SDLT handling more efficient and more robust for conveyancing firms.”

Compass says demand has continued to increase as firms look for greater certainty, consistency and operational resilience within SDLT handling, particularly as compliance expectations around tax related processes continue to evolve across the sector.
