The CLLC have stated that they are aware that conveyancers are under pressure from clients to reform the current way of working following technological changes and the impact of COVID-19.
They have also acknowledged that at present the law isn’t entirely clear around certain elements of the use of electronic documents within the conveyancing process.
Th CLLC are consulting on these proposed changes with conveyancers and key industry stakeholders as they want to make sure it is a benefit to those using it, and that it helps improve work processes.
Any feedback received will be key in forming and developing the code and making sure it works for everyone; solicitors, firms and clients.
