Cornerstone Tax, which specialises in SDLT advice for high-value transactions over £1 million, has been acquired by the firm’s professional connections director Chris Ward.
The firm will continue to specialise in SDLT and plans to broaden its services to include capital gains tax, inheritance tax and ‘other private tax matters’.
Ward has been with Cornerstone for almost a decade and led the expansion of its London operation, which has recently relocated to 23 Berkeley Square in Mayfair. He said of the acquisition:
“I am pleased to announce that I have recently acquired full ownership of Cornerstone Group and have relocated the business to London. We will continue to specialise in property tax advice and particularly in SDLT, using many of the reliefs available which quite often are missed and go unused resulting in people overpaying.”
Ward has a ‘deep knowledge, broad professional network, and track record of delivering outstanding outcomes for clients make him one of the most respected names in the sector,’ a Cornerstone spokesperson said.
They added:
“While the business begins this new phase with a refreshed vision, its core values remain unchanged. The firm continues to specialise in SDLT advisory and remains committed to the high standards of technical excellence and client service that have long defined its approach.
“Clients can expect the same diligence, discretion, and results-driven advice that have led to millions in tax savings over the years.”
