Can agents and conveyancers work together better in 2022?

In an industry first ESTAS, well known for its awards events, is holding a forum for estate agents and conveyancers to explore the state of their relationship and see what practical steps can be taken to improve the home moving process. The first ESTAS Forum will be held in London on 29th March under the theme of “Working Together Better”.

As Simon Brown Founder of The ESTAS Group explains:

there doesn’t seem to be a week that goes by when we read another article telling us that the time it takes to buy or sell a house is taking longer and the rate of fall throughs is going up.  If this trend continues I believe it could have a serious effect on the public’s confidence in the property sector, impacting transaction levels as we approach a possible period of slower growth after the frenzy of 2020 and 2021. So this is a real opportunity to put the agent/conveyancer relationship under the spotlight and look at how we can improve things.”

The forum will see a series panel discussions made up of agents and conveyancers who all work on the “frontline” of the residential property sector. The conveyancer/agent relationship can be strained at the best of times so the discussions are sure to be lively as both sides state their case. To keep things under control the event will be hosted by three of the best known and respected figures in the industry. Sarah Edmundson CEO of Agents Together & Chair of Boomin Strategic Board, Rob Hailstone CEO Bold Legal Group and Iain McKenzie CEO of The Guild of Property Professionals will ensure the panels and audience behave themselves.

Hailstone said:

We want lively and open debate but the pandemic has shown us that during difficult times many agents and conveyancers can work together constructively and harmoniously. It would be great to see those types of mutually beneficial relationships become even more widespread as we head off into 2022 and beyond.”

Edmundson added:

If the pandemic has taught us anything, it is the huge advantages that can be gained by thinking and operating differently. We have started to see more collaboration in the last 12 months across the industry, but there is still so much we can all do. I’m delighted to be working alongside Iain and Rob to extract some progressive ideas from the expert panels and to ultimately give the audience really valuable takeaways for the future. This is sure to be an event that no one in the industry will want to miss.”

McKenzie commented:

For as long as I’ve been in the industry there have been estate agents and conveyancers that have enjoyed a fabulous working relationship. Each business, despite looking through a different end of the telescope, understanding the roles and responsibilities of each other in the process. Their respective CUSTOMERS benefited from this synergy through excellent communication. Why are these relationships the minority despite the obvious benefits? Sarah, Rob and I intend to find out why and how to collaborate to deliver a better service to the Seller and or Buyer!

The unique event is sponsored by ESTAS Headline Partner Coadjute. Coadjute’s ground breaking blockchain network is being rolled out this year and will enable agents and conveyancers to communicate in real time using their existing CRM or CMS software.  Dan Salmons, CEO said “We are delighted to support this event focused on strengthening the relationship between estate agents and conveyancers. Today the parties often have different information on their systems making it hard for them to work together. By enabling everyone involved to see and share data in real-time from their existing platforms, we believe Coadjute can make a big difference, bringing people together and supporting collaboration across the property transaction process.”

The one day event will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane in London on Tuesday 29th March. Early bird tickets are just £149pp (offer ends 31st January) including refreshments and lunch. To book go to https://www.theestas.com/book-tickets

As an ESTAS Media Partner Today’s Conveyancer will have a ring side seat to report back on all the action of the day.
