CA member firms now account for 1 in 7 housing transactions in England & Wales

Members of the Conveyancing Association (CA) accounted for more than one in 7 of all housing transactions in 2013, according to research and analysis by the new Conveyancing Map business intelligence tool.

The Conveyancing Map shows that of the 802,400 residential purchases completed in 2013, CA members were responsible for 115,511— accounting for a total of 14.4% of the market. In monetary terms, the results showed that the CA members bought £26 billion worth of UK residential property on behalf of clients.

Eddie Goldsmith, Chairman of the Conveyancing Association, said:

“The launch of the CA Pledges in 2012 and the launch of the CA Protocol in 2013 are but two examples of the initiatives we at the CA have undertaken to ensure that our members deliver the very best customer service possible — something that we as an association are deeply committed to. I am delighted to see that The Conveyancing Map figures demonstrate that our efforts have not gone unnoticed as our members continue to represent a growing proportion of the conveyancing activity taking place at this exciting time for the UK property sector.”

Richard Hinton, of Pitsford Consulting Ltd and CEO of the Conveyancing Map, said:

"In 25 years of working in the management of conveyancing, there has always been a dearth of good market intelligence to support business planning. The value that the Conveyancing Map provides is an accurate, insightful and easily accessible window into the industry. At a stroke, geographical market shares can be calculated, competitors tracked and competitive landscapes plotted."

“The Map clearly indicates the ongoing strong performance of CA members as the property market here in the UK continues to rebound — a real nod to the excellent work the Association and its members have been carrying out to raise customer service standards across the industry board.”
