On its landmark fifth anniversary, the British Conveyancing Awards welcomes 400 property professionals to 8 Northumberland Avenue in London to recognise and celebrate the individuals, firms and organisations making a tangible difference to home moving and home movers.
Winners on the night included Switalskis Solicitors who scooped New Build Conveyancing Team of the Year and Residential Property Team of the Year – Large; Manchester-based LPL who picked up Best Place to Work and were Highly Commended in the Conveyancing Firm of the Year – National; and Cheshire-based Bell Lamb and Joynson who were recognised as top of the pile in Conveyancing Firm of the Year – North and the hotly anticipated Conveyancing Excellence Award – awarded to the individual or firm who, in the view of the judges, stood out from the rest of submissions as the cream of the crop.
Source of funds specialists Armalytix took home the much coveted Supplier of the Year award with InfoTrack Highly Commended in that category. InfoTrack were not to be denied on the night, recognised as this year’s winner in the Technology Enabler of the Year category, closely followed as Highly Commended by Convey 365.
In the much-coveted Customer Service Champions category Wilford Smith Solicitors pipped Montpellier Legal to take home the trophy. And in the individual categories Connor O’Dell of Swiitch and Emily Hooley of Fidler & Pepper picked up Winner and Highly Commended respectively in the One to Watch Conveyancer of the Year. Irwin Mitchell’s Jo Robinson and ONP Solicitors’ Holly Malamed battled it out for Conveyancer of the Year, with Jo coming out on top in a tight contest. And Helen Claydon of Northwood Banks & Co beat 2024 Outstanding Business Leader of the Year to top spot, with Nick Hale of Movera coming in Highly Commended in 2025.
PCS Legal, Thomas Legal, Talbots, Simply Conveyancing and The Partnership were also recognised for their commitment to innovation, excellence and expertise.
The awards, which were introduced in the wake of the pandemic to recognise the Herculean efforts of the conveyancing profession in keeping the property market moving and supporting the wider UK economy as it relaxed lockdown rules, have since grown to become a staple in the conveyancing calendar and a badge of excellence for those who have been highly commended, or who win.
Across 19 categories individuals and firms from across England and Wales have been recognised for their technical expertise, commitment to client care, and desire to do things a little differently. Each submission has been scrutinised by the panel of industry experts who recognise that a British Conveyancing Award is something to be hugely proud of, something hard earned and hard won.

In November I was on holiday in Honduras, and I witnessed the pitiless spectacle of families walking round a rubbish dump looking for items to sell to pay for food. That day put everything, including the SDLT holiday, into perspective for me.
So I am very disappointed in the members of my profession (though not surprised by some of the usual suspects) who spent thousands of pounds on this junket to buy themselves awards and boost their egos. Everyone who was there, and is in attendance at all the similar jamborees throughout the summer, should hang their heads in shame.
As for the Awards we real conveyancers know how farcical some of the winners are. If the conveyancing equivalent of the Razzies were held today chances are the same people would win. Again it seems money counts for everything, the biggest marketing budget wins the day.
I feel sick to be honest.
I totally agree with you David.
It’s an embarrassment.
