Bell Lamb & Joynson Solicitors, who say they are one of the UK’s longest-established law firms, say they are thrilled to announce a “stellar year of growth, innovation and recognition”.
With “record-breaking financial results and significant accomplishments across all practice areas, the firm continues to solidify its position as a leader in legal services”.
The firm grew its workforce by 18% over the last year, welcoming Senior Associate, Richard Zacharias and new solicitors, Mia Jackman and Lucie into the Family Team.
Jacqueline Ball and Chris Courtney have further strengthened the conveyancing team whilst the Private Client team welcomed solicitors Laura Williams and Melissa Hughes. The Criminal Team welcomed the addition of Duty Solicitor Clare Roche and Lauren Whitaker who is a foreign qualified solicitor.
The firm also appointed a number of paralegals and business support staff to bolster the operations team and ensure continued excellence and client care. This included Paul O’Toole as Head of People and Culture and Martha Clayton as the firms first in-house Marketing Executive to further support its people and continued growth.
This year also saw the appointment of two new equity partners. In July, Jessica Flaherty and Rachael McClean, who have both made “significant contributions to the firm’s success”.
The conveyancing team won Best Postcode for Liverpool at the ESTAS Awards, along with taking away 3 National Awards for ‘Best in County – Conveyancer in Merseyside’, ‘Best Collaboration’ with their fantastic partners Adams Estate Agents and Elm Tree Mortgages, and lastly, winning Silver in the ‘Conveyancing in the North-West’ category.
The team were awarded ‘Highly Commended’ for the Residential Property Team of the Year award, and Head of Department, Laura Cartwright, won the Female Trailblazer of the Year award at the Modern Law Conveyancing Awards The award ceremony took place on 21 November at the Rum Warehouse, Liverpool.
In the Summer, the Private Client team were shortlisted for 3 awards at the Modern Law Private Client Awards, taking home the winner’s award for ‘Best Use of Technology’ and Highly Commended for ‘Outstanding Client Care’.
Bell Lamb & Joynson’s Crime Team has emerged as a standout performer, achieving a 39% turnover increase and managing over 2,500 criminal cases this year. The team, ranked in the top five nationally for client reviews, expanded the team’s headcount by five and now boasts the largest number of duty-qualified solicitors (11) in the Liverpool City Region.
The firm represented high-profile cases, including that of Scarlet Jenkinson in the murder of Brianna Ghey, cementing its reputation for excellence in complex and sensitive criminal matters.
The Criminal Law team at Bell Lamb & Joynson were shortlisted for the ‘Outstanding Team Award’ at the Liverpool Law Society Awards and were crowned winners of the ‘Team of the Year (Individual Law)’ at the Annual LawNet Awards 2024/25.
