Rise in completed HMLR applications

The latest transaction data for England and Wales revealed a monthly rise in the number of applications completed by HM Land Registry.

This contrasts with the transaction data from the HMRC which saw a slight decline in the total transaction volumes month-on-month.

With 1,671,900 customer applications being completed in August, the most recent HM Land Registry data shows that applications grew by 52782 month-on-month.

Out of the total applications, 1,645,152 were applications by account holders, equivalent to 98.4%.

Of these:

  • 394,119 were applications in respect of registered land
  • 774,442 were applications to obtain an official copy of register or title plan
  • 229,895 were searches
  • 81,156 were transactions for value

Standing at 392,737, South East came top of the regional table, with applications having grown by 11,868 month-on-month.

This was followed by Greater London at 313,338, with the North-West ranking in third place at 186,030.

Where local authority areas were concerned, Birmingham once again came top with 25,179, followed by the City of Westminster at 21,516. Coming just behind this was Leeds at 19,102.

In regard to transaction for value customers, My Home Move topped the table in August at 1,887. O’Neill Patient followed at 1,127, whilst Countrywide came in at third place with a total of 662.
