Over the last three years Today’s Conveyancer has undertaken a readership survey of attitudes toward pre-contract enquiries.
With a similar line of questioning each year, the survey asks readers to share their thoughts and attitudes toward pre-contract enquiries over the past 12 months.
Last year the majority of respondents reported little or no change from the previous 12 months; the consensus was the volume of enquiries was on the increase, and relevance on the decrease.
This year’s survey will build on the data of previous surveys and identify any changes or trends. Please take two minutes to answer the below questions or click here to view them in a full screen format.

Far too many unnecessary enquiries being raised. The concern for me in particular is when these come from qualified solicitors who should know better. Asking for indemnity policies for 30+ year old conservatories that you can tell from the brochure meet the permitted development rules and even if it did not, no enforcement of breach could occur now in the same way a breach of covenant would now not be enforceable.
