As Labour came into power today it has been confirmed that MP Angela Rayner has been confirmed as the new Housing Secretary.
The newly re-elected Rayner has been officially appointed as secretary of state for levelling up, housing and communities.
Housebuilding and enabling affordability for first time buyers has been central to Labour’s campaign, with the party pledging planning reforms and 1.5 million new homes for the nation.
Rayner, who will also be the deputy prime minister of the country, will help conduct housebuilding plans and re-visiting leasehold reform.
