‘Ambitious‘ development plans revealed by Homes England

The latest Land Development and Disposal plan has today (04/07/18) been published by the government’s national housing agency. This will detail the nationwide portfolio of sites which it aims to market for development.

Alongside the plan, an interactive map allowing users to geographically identify sites and view site-level details will also be available online for the first time.

Homes England have also stated that it will offer improved site information and technical packs to support its plans, in addition to a standard Building lease to ensure nationwide consistency.

Commenting on the publication of the plans was Executive Director – Land at Homes England, Stephen Kinsella. He said: “As part of Homes England’s expanded remit, we will be much more active in the land market, using our increased resources to ramp up the acquisition of land opportunities and developing new ways to partner other government departments to bring forward more sites more quickly. We are ambitious about our disposals for the year ahead so we’re really keen to talk to developers about the opportunities in our latest plan.”

The agency also states that sites listed in the plan will be disposed of on a competitive basis through its Delivery Partner Panel, through a private treaty sale, auction or bespoke OJEU process.
