The new Mortgage Lenders Handbook will be live from 29 June, UK Finance has announced. The organisation is encouraging conveyancers to pre-register for the site before 5pm on Friday 15th May.
UK Finance confirmed the planned date in a statement, and said conveyancers and solicitors should continue to use the current handbook until then.
“In the new Handbook platform, we have taken the opportunity to invest in updating our operating system to improve both resilience and security as well as substantially improving functionality based on user feedback,” the organisation said.
“From 1 June, we will be providing lenders and conveyancers with advanced access to the new Handbook platform, allowing users to familiarise themselves with its interface, finalise registration requirements and update any internal systems accordingly. During the soft launch the new Handbook platform will be clearly labelled as not the live version and we remind you that during this period, and until the 29 June, the current Lender Handbook remains the sole and official version of the Handbook.”
The new platform has been developed to deliver “a substantial enhancement in the quality and consistency of the services it provides to users'” UK Finance said. “It incorporates a range of improvements, including enhanced security with two-factor authentication, functionality, and filter options offering a more resilient, secure, and user‑focused platform.”
Updated benefits will include the ability to access and search the handbook, compare lender responses, save any favourite searches, set up alerts for any changes in handbook content, manage accounts, and export and print handbook content.
Further communications will be issued before 1 June with instructions on how to access the soft launch of the new site. To ensure migration is as smooth as possible, conveyancers are encouraged to complete a pre-registration form by 15th May.
