Legal Brokers Ltd, a UK provider of biometric identity verification services to law firms, has launched a free digital identity wallet designed to give individuals greater control over identity verification and simplify the property transaction process.
The iDWallet.com app allows users to download and retain a digital wallet at no cost. Where identity verification is required, users can complete a biometric ID check within the app for £4.99 and generate a digital report that can be shared with solicitors and estate agents. The wallet’s data is stored on the user’s mobile device and is confidential to the user, and neither iDWallet.com or Legal Brokers Ltd retain copies of documents or passwords.
The company positions iDWallet.com as a response to the growing frequency of identity verification required across different sectors. “Identity verification has become embedded in everyday transactions, yet the process remains fragmented for individuals,” said Jon Hilton, director of Legal Brokers Ltd (pictured).
“iDWallet.com introduces a free digital wallet that users can retain indefinitely. Where verification is needed, individuals can complete a biometric check for £4.99 and reuse that report when required.
“Our objective is to introduce portability into a system that currently makes life harder and more expensive for individual users. Our app puts the user in charge of their data and allows them to share that information. Maybe more importantly, after they’ve proved their ID they still have a wallet feature they can use for any number of uses.”
The app is available via major app stores.
