poweredbypie, a Dye & Durham Company hosts free webinar to help legal professionals navigate CQS changes

poweredbypie, a Dye & Durham company has put together an on demand training course which is now free to download here. The course, delivered by Ian Quayle, CEO, IQ Legal Training, in association with Navro, is designed to help legal professionals navigate the recent changes to the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS).

Ian Quayle explained:

The Conveyancing Practice Management Standard (CPMS) published by the Law Society has been made compulsory for law firms looking to be CQS compliant from 1 May 2022. Firms now need to be ‘assessment-ready’ as there is a real chance of an audit to check compliance.

This informative webinar covers the latest updates on the CPMS which has been expanded, the need to comply with the Law Society Conveyancing Protocol 2019 which is now mandatory for CQS, in addition to the random assessment procedure.

The CPMS standard itself sets out minimum requirements and guidelines. However, it is not simply a ‘how to’ manual! A law firm’s processes and due diligence procedures need to be proportionate to risk involved in the transaction and also the size of the firm. In the webinar, we cover how the assessments are conducted including process, documentation review and staff interviews. Typical reasons for non-compliance to help firms promote integrity are examined and how to implement best practice to provide quality assurance to lending committees which is the overall objective of the CMS.

This webinar is a ‘must-view’ for any conveyancing team looking to be CQS-Compliant.”
