FCA warn of cloned property investment firm

The Financial Conduct Authority has issued a warning to consumers over a property investment firm which has been cloned.

Legitimate firm, Castlebrook Properties Ltd. has been copied by fraudsters, who have set up a copycat firm under the same name.

Offering ‘Castlebrook Properties HMO Properties Bond’, the fake firm has no registered address, operating on the back of the genuine firm’s reputation, in a bid to persuade consumers that they’re genuine.

In a statement, the FCA said: “The genuine company does not offer any financial products. Scammers are falsely claiming the name, address, and company number of the UK registered company.”
