Stewart Title Launch Fraud Solution Policy to Protect Conveyancers and Their Clients

Following a series of cases where the courts found conveyancers liable for purchase money lost to fraud, Stewart Title have now added a new Fraud Solution Policy to the wide range of policies available for residential properties on its online ordering application (stewartsolution.com).

“Since the successful launch of our ordering application Stewart Online Solution, we have maintained a regular dialogue with conveyancers to ensure that we are providing the policies they require at competitive premiums,” said Robert Kelly, Stewart’s Commercial Business Development Manager.  “The threat of property fraud has become more pressing since the Dreamvar (UK) Limited v Mischon de Reya case and we are pleased to offer our new Fraud Solution Policy to provide protection for properties up to £1,000,000.”

With premiums starting from £50, Stewart Title’s Fraud Solution offers protection against losses suffered as a result of forgery, fraud, duress, incapacity or impersonation of lawful owners of residential property by a third party.

Unlike some of the policies offered in the market, Stewart’s Fraud Solution policy deals with historic fraud and can cover unoccupied and unencumbered properties. It also protects clients purchasing investment as well as owner occupied properties.

For full details of the Fraud Solution Policy, contact Stewart Title’s Telephone Solution Team on 02070 107 821 or Robert Kelly on robert.kelly@stewart.com or 07415 240 703.
