David Rennie has worked in the identity sector for 20 years. He joined the Home Office Identity Cards Programme in 2005, supporting James Crosby’s independent review for the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 2007/8. In 2008 he joined the Cabinet Office to initiate work on digital identity assurance, later leading industry engagement at GOV.UK Verify.
He represented the Cabinet Office as a Director of the Open Identity Exchange between 2013 and 2018 before joining IDEMIA in 2018. Whilst at IDEMIA he established the partnership with Orchestrating Identity, one of the first Orchestration Service Providers certified under the UK government’s Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework.
Orchestrating Identity’s vision is to create an open ‘trust infrastructure’ for digital transactions through which people and businesses can share data with confidence and ease, knowing that the appropriate digital policies and data safeguards have been implemented. David’s role at Orchestrating Identity is to bring together the organisations, service and technology providers that share the vision of creating an open market for Trust and Identity Orchestration (TIDO) services.
