Legal Services Board Chief steps down

Chief Executive of the Legal Services board, Chris Kenny, will step down from the post at the end of November, the Board has announced.

Mr Kenny held the position for five years and applications for the role will be advertised later this week.

The LSB aims to make an appointment by the end of September.

Chris Kenny, said: "Colleagues on the LSB and in our Executive team have shown consistent determination, rigour and creativity in improving the quality of regulation in the legal services sector.

“I am proud of the part I have played in helping them to achieve that."

Sir Michael Pitt, Chairman of the Legal Services Board said: "We should all pay tribute to the considerable contribution Chris has made on behalf of the LSB and the legal sector.”

“But it is hardly surprising, with his remarkable talents and after six successful years as Chief Executive of the LSB, Chris is moving forward in his career."

Mr Kenny will take up a CEO post in the private sector at the start of 2015.
