Kitsons has acquired Exeter-based Armitage & Co and appointed the principal Simon Armitage as a Partner with effect of 1st June 2013.
Kitsons is headquartered in Torquay, Devon with offices in Exeter and Plymouth.
Armitage & Co have operated as a sole practitioner in Exeter for over 30 years, specialising in probate and residential conveyancing work.
Kitsons Managing Partner, James Cross said: “Simon Armitage’s portfolio of more than 2,000 clients in the South West compliments Kitsons’ Devon based portfolio.
“There is remarkable synergy between the two companies and by acquiring Armitage & Co it will give Kitsons the structure and market presence to further develop the business in the city.
“We see this acquisition really as more of a merger, with both companies joining forces and expanding their range of services on offer to clients.”
