The new Advisory Working Group (AWG) formed by Bold Legal Group to respond to the government’s home buying and selling proposals has launched an online forum for conveyancers.
AWG was created to respond to the government’s consultations, but Bold Legal Group says the forum offers a place for conveyancers to discuss ‘the real, day-to-day issues’ conveyancers face. ‘The intention is to explore and dissect any matters that AWG members believe are relevant and significant’, the group said in a statement.
Topics on the agenda include help to buy, CQS, additional enquiries, grant of probate delays, source of funds and AML, the Building Safety Act, rent charges, management companies, lender requirements and new builds.
The group will also examine the tasks or issues that cause delays, the typical length of the delays, whether clients incur additional costs as a result, and how the delays can be addressed.
Bold Legal Group says it also maintains ‘a constructive and open relationship’ with the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
‘In its most recent communication to stakeholders, the department said: Continue your thinking on what actions industry could be doing moving forward now … and what might industry need to do to adapt to proposed reforms’, the statement added.
“The Advisory Working Group provides conveyancers with a clear opportunity to ensure those messages are heard. This applies not only to the current consultations, but to the many operational challenges that only front-line conveyancers experience on a daily basis.”
AWG membership is free and open to all conveyancers. To join, contact lewis@boldgroup.co.uk.
