The British Conveyancing Awards 2026 formally launches today with a special early bird entry rate, and entries are encouraged from across the conveyancing profession.
After five years in London, this year’s awards will be held in Manchester on 12th March, at the iconic Manchester Cathedral. Awards host Today’s Media, publisher of Today’s Conveyancer, is delighted to confirm environmental due diligence and search provider Groundsure will return as the headline sponsor for the fourth time.
Launched in 2021 as a virtual event in the wake of COVID-19, the inaugural British Conveyancing Awards sought to acknowledge the incredible role of the conveyancing profession in transacting near record numbers of home movers and kick starting the economy after the reopening of the property market.
Stories of conveyancers working into the small hours to ensure people met exchange and completion deadlines began to trickle out into the media as the profession rallied to cope with the rising demand, against a backdrop of diminishing resources.
Categories including Mental Health & Wellbeing Conveyancing Firm of the Year, Conveyancing Customer Service Champion, ‘Risen to the Challenge’ Legal Secretary, and Collaborator Champion reflected the dedication of the profession during this challenging time.
In the intervening years, the themes and categories of the awards have changed but the core principles of recognising and celebrating excellence have not. Each year, the categories are reviewed to ensure they remain relevant and 2026 is no different: some criteria have been tweaked and three new categories have been introduced.
New for 2026 are:
- Commercial Property Team of the Year
- Partner of the Year
- Property Commentator of the Year
All the categories and criteria can be seen here.
In 2026, the British Conveyancing Awards is a well-established part of the legal calendar and a mark of excellence for conveyancers and firms up and down the country. Winners and finalists proudly display their achievements on websites, social media channels, emails and in printed collateral. With the awards submissions drawing on evidence across a stringent range of criteria, including customer reviews, success is an important indicator of public trust.
Malcolm Smith, CEO at Headline Sponsor Groundsure, commented:
“We are absolutely thrilled to once again be the headline sponsor of the British Conveyancing Awards 2026 in what is a very iconic venue in Manchester. These awards are a fantastic celebration of the innovation, expertise, and dedication within the conveyancing profession.
“At Groundsure, we know how central conveyancing professionals are to giving clients clarity, confidence, and peace of mind in what is often the biggest transaction of their lives. Supporting these awards is a natural extension of our commitment to the sector – providing market-leading environmental and climate data, alongside the tools and resources that help firms deliver the very best due diligence and client care.
“We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals and firms across the industry, and we look forward to an inspiring evening that shines a spotlight on the talent and resilience that continue to drive the profession forward.”
