North-west law firm Bell Lamb & Joynson is celebrating a record-breaking financial year, with turnover from client fees rising by 17.79% to reach £5.2 million – the first time in the firm’s 200 year history that it’s surpassed the £5 million mark.
The successful year has also seen the firm expand its team by a fifth with 28 new starters, open a new office in Ashton-in-Makerfield and win five industry awards. The success is set to continue with the launch of a new Contentious Probate & Disputes department this month.
Managing partner Mike Leeman commented on the firm’s growth:
“Our growth this year, both in terms of turnover and team size, speaks volumes about the strength of our culture, our client relationships, and our long-term strategy.
“Welcoming 28 new starters, opening a new office, and seeing team members qualify as solicitors are achievements we’re incredibly proud of. Most importantly, they enable us to support more people, more effectively, every day.”
Amongst the new starters welcomed by Bell Lamb & Joynson include Helen Hynes as head of operations, Paul O’Toole as head of people and culture and Martha Clayton as the firm’s first in-house marketing executive.
The soon-to-be-launched Contentious Probate & Disputes department will see the new specialist team support clients facing contested wills, inheritance disputes and estate-related claims.
The success has been marked with five industry awards, including three accolades for the conveyancing team: Conveyancing Firm of the Year (North) and Conveyancing Excellence in the British Conveyancing Awards and Female Trailblazer of the Year for Laura Cartwright at the Modern Law Conveyancing Awards.
