Damar Training launches CLC/SQA Conveyancing Apprenticeships and Diplomas

Damar Training, the long-established training provider, has partnered with the Council for Licensed Conveyancers and the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) to offer the new conveyancing apprenticeships as well as the Level 4 and Level 6 Diplomas in Conveyancing Law and Practice.

The Diplomas are studied via a flexible and enriched distance-learning programme, delivered by tutors with significant experience of delivering the CLC qualifications. As well as course manuals and online materials, students attend webinars and interact with their tutors on their course forum. Fees can be spread across the course duration.

For firms looking to develop the skills of existing or new staff, funding reforms make the apprenticeship route increasingly attractive. Conveyancing apprenticeships offer a way to achieve the CLC qualifications as part of a wider study programme.  Here, the Government will contribute at least 90% of the cost of training for an apprentice at a smaller firm to become a conveyancing technician or licensed conveyancer. Larger firms are able to secure 100% funding via their apprenticeship levy.

For those who are looking to study the Diplomas on a standalone basis, the next intake of the course is later this month with the next intake in June. Apprentices can start throughout the year.

Sheila Kumar, Chief Executive of the Council for Licensed Conveyancers says:

“We are delighted that Damar has become a provider of education leading to qualification as a CLC Lawyer – Licensed Conveyancer by distance learning and the exciting new apprenticeship route. The new education providers will widen access to a career in the legal profession yet further and increase the pipeline of newly qualified specialist property lawyers to meet demand in the sector”.
